The First Day Jitters
初日の緊張
英語ストーリー
Lily's stomach churned. It was her first day at a new school, and she felt a wave of nervousness wash over her. She clutched her backpack straps tightly, her knuckles white. The school building loomed large before her, a brick giant filled with unknown faces and unfamiliar routines. She took a deep breath, reminding herself of her mom's words: "Just be yourself, Lily. You'll be fine."
Inside, the hallway buzzed with activity. Students chatted excitedly, laughing and jostling each other good-naturedly. Lily felt a pang of loneliness, but she kept walking, her eyes fixed on the floor. She found her classroom, Room 203, and cautiously pushed open the door. The teacher, a kind-looking woman with warm eyes, greeted her with a smile. "Welcome, Lily!" she said, making Lily feel instantly more at ease. She found an empty seat near the window and settled in, watching as other students found their places. The teacher started the lesson, and Lily listened intently, gradually feeling her nervousness fade. By the end of the day, she even made a new friend, Sarah, who sat next to her. Walking home that afternoon, Lily felt a lightness in her step. Her first day jitters were gone, replaced by a sense of excitement for what tomorrow might bring.
