A Summer Day of Insect Collecting
昆虫採集の夏の1日
英語ストーリー
The summer sun beat down as ten-year-old Leo ventured into the woods behind his house. His net, a trusty companion, swung lightly in his hand. Today was a special day – his first solo insect collecting expedition.
He carefully navigated the path, his eyes scanning the leaves and branches. He spotted a bright blue butterfly flitting among the wildflowers. With a swift movement, he scooped it into his net. It was a beautiful specimen, its wings shimmering in the sunlight.
Further into the woods, Leo discovered a fascinating beetle clinging to a tree trunk. It was large and black, with impressive mandibles. He gently coaxed it into a small jar, making sure to provide it with some leaves and a small twig.
Suddenly, a large dragonfly zipped past him. Leo tried to catch it, but it was too quick. Disappointed, but not discouraged, he continued his search, eventually finding a variety of interesting insects, including a praying mantis and several different types of grasshoppers.
Back home, Leo carefully examined his collection. He realized it was a successful day, filled with exciting discoveries and the thrill of the chase. He knew this was just the beginning of his insect collecting hobby.
