The Missed Deadline and My Valuable Lesson
締め切りを逃した日と貴重な教訓
英語ストーリー
I was working on a crucial project at my office, a presentation for a major client. I felt confident; I had a detailed outline, and I was making good progress. I even thought I could finish it early. This confidence, however, became my downfall.
I procrastinated. Instead of focusing on the presentation, I got distracted by less important tasks, checking emails constantly and engaging in idle chat with colleagues. I told myself I had plenty of time, and I could easily catch up later.
Then, the deadline arrived, and I was far from finished. Panic set in. I rushed through the remaining work, sacrificing quality for speed. The presentation was delivered, but it was far from my best work, and I could see the client was disappointed.
This experience taught me a valuable lesson about time management and the importance of prioritizing tasks. I learned to break down large projects into smaller, more manageable steps, and to set realistic deadlines for each step. Now, I'm much more organized and effective in my work.
